Brainkiller (originally a wordplay on the names of its two original members) is a funambolic jazz-prog trio with american Brian Allen on trombone, Jacob Koller on fender rhodes and piano and argentinean drummer Hernan Hecht to provide polyrhythmic intent.
Originally a duo, they morphed into a trio in 2007 to record their first album, eventually released on RareNoiseRecords. Their music draws clues from jazz, progressive rock, zappa-esque songwriting, whilst they offer shambolic and wonderful live performances (the one at the Genoa Jazz Festival in 2010 was epic). Quite unlike anything you'll have heard before.

Colourless Green Superheroes
Colourless Green Superheroes is Brainkiller's second long-awaited album.
Recorded in Mexico in 2012, COLOURLESS GREEN SUPERHEROES expands the musical universe of Knoernschild (a.k.a. Brian Allen), Otaku (a.k.a. Jacob Koller) and Mr PacMan (a.k.a. Hernan Hecht) keeping its origins in firmly focused on their surreal mixture of free jazz, rock, melodic slants and Frank Zappa-esque humour, but vertiginously increases the depths of songwriting - by summoning the demons of dance and trip-hop. The result is unforgettable and moving.
The Infitration is Brainkiller's first album (Brian Allen on Trombone, Jacob Koller on fender and piano and Hernan Hecht on drums).
Recorded in 3 hours straight in 2007, it lives in a unique musical space bridging free jazz, rock, melodic slants and Frank Zappa-esque humour, whilst telling a musical story of struggle between an alien creature hell-bent on mind control and our three scientist-musician heroes (their true names being respectively Knoernschild, Otaku and Mr PacMan) and their fight for a cure for mankind (their music being the cure)
Quite unlike anything you will have ever heard before, The Infiltration dances through tempos, melodies and musical references with the ease of a ballerina but with a fundamental earnestness that makes their magical musical compositions unforgettable.
