Biography

The Mantra ATSMM are a new and exciting act from Naples. Their influences are broad, among these we can recognize Radiohead, Mogwai, Silver Mt Zion, Sigur Ros, Genesis and Charlie Mingus. The EP will feature Eugene Robinson of Oxbow on vocals on one of the tracks.

The Mantra Above The Spotless Melt Moon (a.k.a. The Mantra ATSMM) hail from the outskirts of Naples, Italy. They are both members of a revered musical tradition (Naples) as much as they are steeped in contemporary rock (Radiohead, Mogwai, The Mars Volta, Bjork, Sigur Ros) with strong leanings towards electronica, psychedelia and prog. They have just released their first EP, Rooms, which acts as a bridge between their early work ("Helder Pedro Moreira", "The Fog", "A Friend With A Knife") and their new batch of remarkable compositions ("Rooms"). They are currenlty placing their finishing touches on their new Album, which will appear on RareNoiseRecords early 2010 under the watchful eye of producer Luigi Nobile of Monochrome Studios in Eboli, on the outskirts of Naples.
 
The Mantra ATSMM are Adriana Salomone (voice, guitars), Davide Famularo (bass, keyboards), Maurizio Oliviero (guitars) and Salvio Sibillo (drums).
